Welcome to this week's issue -- San Francisco Treat. Traveling with a baby or toddler is always an interesting journey. We recently took our daughter, Emma, who is twenty two months old on a trip to San Francisco. Here's a few fun places to visit if you travel to this wonderful city with your little one.

For a lovely afternoon be sure to visit the Palace of Fine Arts where you can stroll around the pond, feed the ducks or sit and have a picnic. The beautiful architectural structures located here were designed by Bernard Maybeck and constructed for the Panama - Pacific International Exposition. Now owned by the city of San Franciso, you can also visit the Exploratorium -- a hands-on science exhibit in the adjacent museum. Go to www.nps.gov/archive/prsf/places/palace.htm for more information on this fun locale.

For a day of sightseeing, take a cable car to Fisherman's Wharf home of the Aquarium of the Bay. What lies beneath the Bay? See, touch, discover, learn about the fascinating marine life of the San Francisco Bay and its surrounding waters. Walk through crystal clear tunnels of water filled with over 20,000 aquatic animals. Touch sharks, rays and sea stars. Discover the Bay’s distinctive ecosystems and the importance of preserving this wonderful natural resource. For more information go to www.aquariumofthebay.com

If you love flowers then you'll definitely want to visit the Conservatory of Flowers. This is a spectacular living museum of rare and beautiful tropical plants including palms, orchids, bromeliads, carnivorous plants and much more. Prominently situated near the eastern end of Gold Gate Park, this gem of Victorian architecture opened in 1879 and is North America's oldest existing public conservatory. A city, state and national historic landmark, the Conservatory remains one of the most beloved attractions in the park. While we were there the Dahlia gardens were in full bloom and was such a lovely sight! Go to www.conservatoryofflowers.org for more info.

If you love Italian food then you'll have to plan to eat at L'Ottavo Ristorante located at 692 Sutter Street. The atmosphere is lovely, the food is to die for (they make their own pasta) and the service is fantastic. They EVEN welcome little ones and offer them crayons upon arrival. We would have been hard pressed to find all this in one restaurant anywhere else in the city. We will surely be dining at this wonderful establishment again when we return to San Fran! For info and reviews of this restaurant go to www.mytravelguide.com.

We hope you've enjoyed this week's issue and we look forward to brining you next week's issue -- Playroom Planning. Have a great week everyone!
