
It's almost 2011 which means we are approaching our FIVE year anniversary on the world wide web! Many wonderful products have been submitted for review and editorials written about them. We've enjoyed this format immensely. For the New Year, I have decided to take a somewhat different path and blog daily about my journey to lose the last of the baby weight since the birth of my son, Reid Gregory, this past May.
I gained almost 60 pounds with this pregnancy and tipped the scales at 208 at my last prenatal visit! Luckily, as with my first pregnancy, the first 30 lbs fell off right away -- I attribute a lot of this to breastfeeding -- which I am still doing by the way. So you may not notice the word dieting here too much. The next 10 pounds came off with much food journaling and exercise. I suspect the rest will come off at a much slower pace and with yet more hard work and dedication. My goal is to be "bikini ready" and at 145-150 lbs by mid May 2011.
I will be recording my weight and inches weekly for all to see along with a copy of my food journal and exercise for the day/week/month. Additionally, I will share with you my mood, schedule (and with a five year old daughter and a seven month old son that can be harrowing sometimes I wonder how I will find time to blog everyday!) and slip ups.
My goal here is to be totally transparent, share what works and what doesn't and hopefully get some great tips and stories from you -- moms who are experiencing the same struggles to balance a home, family and in some cases a career all the while finding the time to take care of you -- now that's a novel idea isn't it? But the truth is, if you can't take care of yourself then you just aren't going to be able to do all those other things very well.
My aim is to share things with you that can be incorporated into your busy lifestyle as a mom, wife, professional and woman. I hope you will enjoy this new blog and welcome you along for the ride.
